The Newark Public School System, a large public school district that serves the entire city of Newark in Essex County, New Jersey and comprises 80 schools, needed to assess all costs related to an impending construction upgrade of district schools.
While some baseline data available, no true reporting system existed to analyze and outline the status of each school. The Newark Public School system needed a way to track and analyze school asset information for each school and analyze costs involved with all school construction upgrades.
Intellis configured its FOUNDATION system and developed a costing methodology to be used in the development of design and programming for the Costing and Reporting System. The Costing and Reporting System was designed and used to automatically generate the Newark Public Schools Master Plan Reports based on actual collected data.
The Newark Public School system was able to use FOUNDATION to look strategically at the current state of the facilities within the system, evaluate costing impact of planned construction, and in turn, allowed managers to create strategic master plans for future projects.
